The StFX Students Union is Seeking Conduct Advocates for the 2025-26 school year

Our Conduct Advocates are trained extensively in matters related to the Community Code of Conduct in order to provide guidance and support to students during the conduct process. They can walk students through the entire appeal process, help format letters, coach students on interviews, and explain overall how the Community Code works.


We encourage applications from members of groups that have been historically disadvantaged and marginalized, including Indigenous persons, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, those who identify as women and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ and any others who would contribute to the diversity of our community.

Conduct Advocate

  1. The Conduct Advocates focus on disciplinary issues within the Community Code and Residence Standards Guide, and any other sanctions that fall under the discipline or appeals process in the STFX community. They must have a full understanding of the STFX Community Code as well as the Appeal and Discipline hearing processes.
  2. The Conduct Advocates will seek consultation where necessary from the Student Life Office, Registrar's Office, and the Chair of Senate. They will work with these departments to help accomplish their required tasks and research.
  3. The Conduct Advocates must have a full understanding of the Academic Calendar and the students' rights. Through this understanding, they will inform the student of their rights and obligations as instructed under the Academic Calendar. The Advocates will also provide students will any information requested regarding the Academic Calendar and its guidelines.
  4. The Conduct Advocates will meet with the Vice President of Campus Affairs following an appeal to discuss the decision and the process to ensure clear communication and an acknowledgement of where there is room for improvement.
  5. The Conduct Advocates shall perform other duties as designated by the Vice President Campus Affairs.

THIS IS AN HOURLY POSITION, APPROXAMITELY 9 HOURS/WEEK OF WORK, YOU WILL HAVE AN OFFICE SPACE TO WORK IN

General Duties

  1. The Student Advocates shall be responsible for the development, maintenance and effective management of the Student Advocate Office.
  2. Student Advocates are responsible for researching and supporting the cases of students undergoing the appeals process. Their role is to provide support and advice to the student.
  3. The Student Advocates will receive training in the processes applicable to their position.

StFX Students' Union | CFXU Radio Station Manager

The StFX Students Union is looking to hire a CFXU Radio Station Manager for the 2025/2026 School Year.

Under the direction of the CFXU Oversight Committee as outlined in the St. Francis Xavier University

Students’ Union policy document "Students’ Union Radio Station Oversight Committee Policy and Procedures”.

The Station Manager(s) shall be charged with the responsibility of managing the day-to-day operations of CFXU, and granted the authority to carry out any actions pertaining to these affairs.

 

The Station Manager(s) shall be accountable to the community and the membership of the St.FX Students' Union, through the CFXU Oversight Committee.

 

All CFXU staff and volunteers ultimately report to the Station Manager(s). Please see Terms of Reference below.

Students' Union | Website Coordinator

THE STFX STUDENTS’ UNION IS Seeking A Website Coordinator
FOR THE 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR

Reports to:

Students’ Union Marketing Manager

General:

  • Term of Position: August 2025 – April 30th, 2026.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a current STFX student in good academic and student conduct standing.

Hiring/Appointment Process:

  • Shall be hired by: VP Finance and Operations; and Students’ Union Marketing Manager.

  • Will be required to sign a contract outlining terms of employment and a confidentiality agreement with the Students’ Union due to the access to confidential information.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • This position will be paid at the SU student manager rate of $17.20 per hour.

  • This position will have office space provided on 1st Floor Bloomfield.

Hours:

  • August 2025: May work up to 15 hours per week, schedule to be determined by the Students’ Union Marketing Manager.

  • September 2025 – April 2026: May work up to 6 hours per week, schedule to be determined by the Students’ Union Marketing Manager.

Requirements:

  • 1 year experience working with Squarespace Website Hosting

  • Must have CSS experience.

  • Must have HTML experience.

  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Suite Administration

Responsibilities:

  1. The SU Website Coordinator will meet bi-weekly with the SU Marketing Manager for support and guidance on weekly goals and expectations.

  2. The SU Website Coordinator will be tasked with:

  • Interfacing with each SU service and operations for staff changes, hours of operation changes and any other updates as needed throughout the year.

  • Updating all SU website pages.

  • Revitalize the Calendar of Events function.

  • Review all appointment booking systems within the Students’ Union.

  • Assist with the transition of Students Union Microsoft accounts.

  • Review and implement new ticket purchases options.

  • Work with Xaverian Weekly News, and CFXU Radio Station on updating and recommendations for their web presence.

  • Attend weekly Marketing Meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Powers:

  1. Will be given administrator access to the Students’ Union website to make the changes that are requested by the Students’ Union.

Limitations:

  1. Will not be given the power to make changes to the Students’ Union website without the direction of the Students’ Union Marketing Manager.
