Advocating for the Student Vote

Our Vice President External, Ben Fairhurst, has been busy advocating for students in regards to the upcoming provincial election!

He has been in two separate interviews the past couple days to talk about the power of the student vote, our Get Out The Vote Campaign through StudentsNS and some of the student issues which could lead to higher turnout at the polls this year!

His first interview with Jesse Thomas over at Global News was about how impactful and important the student voice can be in Nova Scotia, with 10% of the population falling between 18-24 and 55,000 post-secondary students eligible to vote in this upcoming election.

They also discussed how unemployment, affordability, equity and mental health concerns are some of the issues that could push more students to vote this summer.

His second interview was on the live radio show, Le Réveil, on Radio-Canada.

The interview was fully in French, but they discussed the role of the student voice in the Nova Scotia provincial election, and the goal of our Get Out The Vote campaign!
